How Will You Benefit from Yoga Tune Up®?
Yoga Tune Up® is a fitness therapy format built around the three P’s – Pain, Posture and Performance. It helps eradicate pain, improve posture and enhance performance through a unique blend of Corrective Exercise, Self Massage and Yoga. By helping to identify and target your “body blind spots”; areas that are most overused, underused, or misused, YTU heals damaged muscle, increases strength and establishes healthy movement patterns to help you live better in your body.
In my own words, it’s a class to learn about usage of therapy balls YTU, on your body, following a pre-establish routine by the yoga teacher, to massage your tissues and muscles rolling on the different balls. By applying a ball on your skin and the pressure of your weight, you get to help tissues efficiently move, breaking adherence built in your soft tissues which limits your reach of motion. With the help of your breath, your body will get rid of knots those painful “trigger point”.
You’ve probably heard about “Deep tissue massage therapy”? Then, YTU is almost the same thing, but you do it to yourself, without having to pay for the therapist fees 😉
Spider Web of white tissues surrounding your muscles. Think of an orange, yes the fruit 🙂 peel the skin off. The white surface inside the peeled skin is superficial fascias, the white surface that stayed on the orange soft tissue, is the deep fascias. The deep fascias is what get the orange “cosse”together. Specialist says that fascias are what hold the body together and not the bones, and they’re probably right.
Fascias are designed to glide onto the muscle 💪 😉 allowing the muscles full strength and length but sometimes, it created adhesion restricting our body’s movement, that’s where your YTU balls comes in handy.
In my next class, we will explore our body through touch, massage, theory, test and re-test, through a gentle flow and our breath. I will try my best to teach you to move more, to use your body with purpose.
